Diversity/Inclusion

At Cords for Care, our culture of belonging is about uniting people of different backgrounds, beliefs, abilities and experiences and offering them an environment where everyone feels valued and works together to achieve meaningful goals.

Diversity

We emphasize diversity in the great variety of people we work with and help. That includes diversity of race, gender, economic position, religion, education, sexuality, perspective, career background, and political affiliation, among others. We focus on creating a safe space for our board, team leaders, staff, volunteers, interns, and the people we help. Our free or low-cost fire mitigation and firewood distribution services are offered to all people in need, regardless of race, gender, economic position, religion, education, sexuality, perspective, career background, or political affiliation.

Inclusion

We value inclusivity and strive for an environment where our board, team leaders, staff, volunteers, interns, and the people we help collaborate, make suggestions, and respect and listen to diverse opinions and suggestions offered. We welcome board members, team leaders, volunteers, interns, and partners of all races, genders, economic positions, religions, educational backgrounds, sexual orientations, perspectives, career backgrounds, political affiliations, and abilities.

Respect

We believe that each person must be considered as an individual. We must respect their diversity and dignity and recognize their merit. Our board, staff, and team leaders model inclusivity and respectful behavior and we ask that all of our volunteers, interns, partners, and the people we help to do the same.
