About Us
Cords for Care was founded by Landry Thornberry, a Montana local, born and raised in Whitefish. Growing up in Montana, Landry developed close ties to the community, a love of the outdoors, and a strong desire to give back. His passion for forestry led to a simple discovery. There are people who need help with clearing for fire mitigation and others who need wood to keep warm. This natural symmetry led him to launch Cords for Care, a Montana local nonprofit taking care of the environment and our community.
Our Mission:
At cords for care, our mission is to provide residential homeowners with low or no cost tree thinning, for fire mitigation, and to distribute the firewood to those in need.
Our Vision:
We envision a Montana safe from the spread of forest fires; where no member of our community goes cold because they can’t afford firewood.
