Over 10% of families in the Flathead Valley live at or below the poverty line but, as we all know, you don’t need to live near the poverty line to struggle financially.
Over the past several years, rising costs throughout the Flathead Valley have left working- and middle-class families scrambling to keep up with spiraling property taxes and never ending increases in the cost of food, insurance, transportation, and housing; leaving many families struggling just to get by. If you cannot afford the rising cost of heat and need firewood to help keep your family warm through the winter, we are here to help.
Cords for Care offers free and low-cost fire mitigation work throughout the Flathead Valley. We use the collected timber to create firewood, which we offer to the community free of charge. If you need help, reach out.
I couldn't do much yet (after surgery). I told CFC I could use a cord to help me get through winter. Within a week it was cut, delivered and stacked.
